Blizzard

Blizzard on the East Coast!!

The only thing I like about blizzards is the snow, the purple skies, and stepping on fresh snow that nobody else stepped on before. The snow is so beautiful! But it is blizzarding like crazy right now. It's extremely windy and. with the snow, visibility is really bad for drivers. Hopefully everyone is staying warm and not driving in this crazy weather!
I hate shoveling snow when the snow stops. I also hate it when the giant shoveling trucks shovel the snow on the road and pushes all the dirty slushy snow into mountains on the sidewalk.

Stay warm!!

Accessorize NYC

Today, I had to run some errands in the city. My first stop was in West Village. I've only been around this area a few times and I was always with my boyfriend when I go there. It was so difficult to navigate West Village. The streets were criss crossed in different angles and directions.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Accessories Store -CLOSED-
The store that sold special items has been renovated to a Marc Jacobs handbags. To find special items, you have to go across the street to Bookmarc or down the block to the other Marc Jacobs store (but their selection of special items is not as good as the old specialty store. =(

Bookmarc
New Marc store that sells a variety of their new line of stationary--notebooks, pencils, pencil cases, etc. They also sell some really interesting, fun, classic books. They also have some of the accessories.

Accessorize NYC
Came across this cute UK-based accessory shop that sold a variety of accessories (jewelry, hats, gloves, scarves, little gifts, lingerie). They have really nice and cute jewelry for affordable prices. I especially loved their cold weather accessories! They have coordinating hats, scarves, and gloves with really cute designs. They had this earmuff that I thought was absolutely adorable!

Sugarbunny

Finally got my hands on one! It's a Sugarbunny one. The McDonald's I went to only had this one and Keroppi. So I picked this one. I really want the My Melody and Hello Kitty one. Too bad they don't have Pochacco.

Introducing...

My pets~
This is Momo aka Miu Miu. He's currently a little over 1 year old. We found him last summer in our backyard. Someone must have abandoned him because we live on a street where it's sort of impossible for any stray animals to wander to. He was a little kitten when we found him. He was hiding under the shed in our backyard. We had to capture him using a trap. He was really scared at first and I was really scared that he would hurt himself because he struggled so much. But we took him in and fed him and housed him. He's now a part of our family.

This is Idol (pronound eye-do). My dad picked out the name because he wanted him to be like an "idol." Cheesy, I know. We bought him when he was just 2 months old. Now he is a little over 9 years old. He's an old dog now, but he is still really agile and loud. He has been in the family since I was in the 8th grade. We grew up together. He was with me all through high school and college. I am so proud to have him as my dog. We get a lot of compliments about how cute he is. And you don't see all white pekingese often. He has a really bad temper. He barks at strangers, little children, other dogs, and runs after loud moving trucks. When he is not outside, he's always sleeping. He doesn't like me too much because I was always the one who disciplined him growing up. My dad is the good guy.

Prior to my dog, I actually had a white guinea pig with red eyes, her name was Kelly. We had her for over 4 years and she died shortly after we moved to a new house. We also had rabbits (1 year) and gold fishes (5 years).

Sanrio 50th Anniversary @ McDonald's

Went to 2 McDonald's today to try to get these Sanrio 50th Anniversary watches from the Happy Meals. Unfortunately, both the McDonalds I went to ran out of them!!! Both of them!! I was so mad and sad! I only found out about these watches yesterday, so I didn't know how long they have been in stores and I don't know how much longer they will be at McDonald's. I want them so bad!!! I don't think I can get them anywhere near campuses and areas with large Asian populations. I'm not going to give up! I am going to scour all the McDonald's in NJ if I have to. Rawrrr.

Mitsuwa Marketplace in NJ

Went there for lunch today with my friend who had a craving for some katsu. I ordered the cod roe udon (#10). It was $5.80. I added tempura flakes and spicy powder on top.

My friend ordered this Chicken Katsu combo (also #10). Don't know what the price of it is, but it comes with rice, miso soup, salad, and potato salad? (Not sure what the scoop of mushy-looking thing is).
Afterwards, we got some cream yaki's red-bean yaki's. The cream yaki's are my favorite. The cream is just sweet enough. A delectable dessert. =) The regular reb bean yaki is $1.50 for one. The cream yaki is $1.75 for one. They have deals like buy 5 get 1 free, etc.

It was really cold today, but at least the sun was shining. Good weather always makes me happy.

My friend said I should start a food blog..

Lately, I too, have been jumping on the bandwagon of taking pictures of food I eat and places I go to eat. I like to take pictures so that I can remember the food I ate and how it tasted. So my friend said I should start a food album or food blog on Facebook, but I shot down the idea because I think I would annoy the hell out of my Facebook friends if I constantly upload pictures of food. And I don't just want to start a food blog, I want a "everything" blog, where I blog about everything? Haha. Enjoy peeps~

This is at East Japanese Restaurant on 3rd Ave, between 26th and 27th Streets. I went there on Tuesday, which was Salmon night! I LOVE SALMON! They have discounts on everything salmon that day. Monday is Tuna night for tuna lovers out there. The salmon was so fresh that day. I went again on Thursday and I have to say that the salmon is not as fresh as Tuesday, but it was still good. They serve the sushi on a conveyor belt, which you don't see a lot of on the East Coast. People on Yelp have been saying how they have plenty of those on the West Coast...yeah, okay. For us East Coasters, you don't see those around often. This place gets packed at night and at lunch time. Best time to go would be off-peak times like around 2-4pm. Like other conveyor belt sushi restaurants out there, the dishes are on color-coded plates which represents the cost of the dish. There's a handy diagram on the table. The dishes are mainly 2-3 decent-sized pieces of sushi. I think it's perfect for those who want to try different rolls and don't want to eat an entire roll of one specific roll. They don't always have everything on the menu on the conveyor belt, but you can order it from the menu. Service is pretty good--they refill your green tea ever 10-15 minutes. Today, I witnessed these two guys stuffing one of the more expensive black plates into their bag so they didn't have to pay for it.
"Yum cha," or Dimsum, at Jing Feng Restaurant on Elizabeth St. in Chinatown. Went there aound 10am and there were only senior citizens chilling there. Their food was okay. They didn't have my favorite dish though.
Salmon Maki and Spicy Tuna Maki at Ki Sushi in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. A snazzy sushi restaurant in Brooklyn. Decor was sophisticated and chic. I didn't know nice restaurants existed outside of Manhattan. This place was really good, though I did not like their spicy rolls, mainly because it had crunch in it. It kind of ruined the roll for me. I like crunch, but it just tasted weird. Their service was superb though. They helped us take our chopsticks out of the wrapper, poured our soy sauce for us, and refilled our water and tea often. It's steps away from the F train stop (Bergen St). It's also a very nice neighborhood.

Picnic Garden in Edison, NJ

All You Can Eat Korean BBQ
Lunch: $15
Dinner: $28

Comment: Bring a big appetite! This is like meat-lovers' heaven! Very neat and clean. Okay service (it's a buffet, so it's mostly self-serve). They have cooked foods as well. Pretty good eat. The only con about this place is that they don't have the meats labeled so I didn't know what was what. I was told there was chicken, beef, pork, and lamb.

Address:
1763 Route 27
Edison, NJ 08817
*They also have a Picnic Garden in Flushing, NY.

Forever 21 on 5th Avenue

Forever 21's new NYC store located at 693 Fifth Avenue, between 54th and 55th streets.

I like Holidays in NYC

One of the main reasons I love holidays in NYC despite the cold weather are Christmas lights!! They are so pretty at night and it's just so mesmerizing. I especially love 5th Avenue/Midtown where all the shopping is. The shops are so creative and unique. Saks has their Christmas window displays, as well as Lord & Taylors and Macy's to name a few. In the city, no matter how cold it is, there will always be tons of people. I like the fact that it's so lively, but honestly, I hate walking behind groups of people who are rubbernecking and admiring every detail. People can also enjoy free ice skating at Bryant Park's Citi Pond, sponsored by Citibank. They are open October 29, 2010 till February 27, 2011. You can bring your own skates or rent a pair and don't forget to bring your own lock if you don't want to pay for one.
